西条市の魅力

愛媛県東部に位置する西条市。南は西日本最高峰の「石鎚山」、北は瀬戸内海に囲まれています。気候は温暖で、良質な自噴水「うちぬき」に代表される豊かな自然環境と、由緒ある寺や名湯といった魅力的な観光資源に恵まれています。日本一の生産量を誇るはだか麦やあたご柿、春の七草など、多種多様な農作物の一大産地であるとともに、飲料、電気機械などの工場が立地し、四国最大規模の工業地帯となっています。(引用「西条市HP」)

​また、西条市をはじめとする愛媛県東部地域には「西条祭り」や「新居浜太鼓祭り」といった豪華絢爛な秋祭りがあることでも有名です。毎年10月中旬になると「だんじり」や「太鼓台」が練り歩き、街がお祭り一色になります。

Saijo City is located in the eastern part of Ehime Prefecture. Mt.Ishizuchi, the highest mountain in western Japan, to the south and the Seto Inland Sea to the north. Saijo is blessed with a mild climate, a rich natural environment as represented by the high-quality "Uchinuki water", and attractive tourist resources such as historic temples and famous hot springs.Saijo City is a major producer of a wide variety of agricultural products, such as Hadakamugi (barley), Atago persimmon, and the seven spring flowers, the largest production in Japan, and is also one of the largest industrial areas in Shikoku, with beverage and electrical machinery factories. Saijo City and the eastern region of Ehime Prefecture are also famous for its gorgeous autumn festivals, such as the Saijo Festival and the Niihama Taiko Festival. Every year in mid-October, the city is filled with festivities as "Danjiri" and "Taikodai" parade through the streets.
